There are two main types of picture formats that apply to TV; and also to DVDs and DVD players.
These are PAL and NTSC. The In Transition 2.0 DVD is in PAL format.
NTSC is the standard picture format in the USA, Canada & Japan.
PAL is the standard picture format in most of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, most of Africa/Asia.
It is important to understand the difference if you are from the USA and Canada. Japan also uses NTSC (Region 2) however it is America and Canada that are unique in that the ‘normal’ DVD player and TV is made for just the NTSC format and will not normally play PAL.
In the USA and Canada for example, many DVD players can only play the NTSC format, also many TV sets. Unless your TV / Monitor can display both formats you when purchasing DVD’s (not just the DVD offered here on this website), you need to purchase the appropriate DVD in the format for your Country. Or a DVD player that can play both (PAL / NTSC compatible or with a built in converter).
However most Computers can play both PAL and NTSC.
The purpose of this information is for people in the USA, Canada and Japan that want to buy PAL DVDs from our shop, is that you need to have a DVD player capable of playing the PAL format for playback.
Most computers that have DVD players can playback both PAL and NTSC DVDs.
Our DVD is designed for worldwide playback in all DVD regions.
The NTSC version is now available for pre-order from Transition US.
